Celebrating Spring Through Slavic Folk Art
Spring has long been a season of renewal, creativity, and celebration in Slavic cultures. And we’re excited to invite you and your family to experience this tradition through art at our upcoming Family Craft Night. Children and adults come together to create handmade yarn birds, inspired by Slavic folk crafts and seasonal symbolism.
In many Slavic cultures, birds are powerful symbols of spring, hope, and new beginnings. Folk traditions often celebrate the return of birds after winter as a sign of warmth, life, and renewal. Handmade crafts, especially those using simple, natural materials like yarn, straw, and fabric have long been part of family and community life.
By creating yarn birds together, we connect to these traditions:
- Honoring the arrival of spring and nature’s cycles
- Passing down simple, meaningful craft techniques
- Creating objects that symbolize warmth, home, and joy
- Connecting with others through shared cultural experiences

No prior experience is needed—this craft is accessible, joyful, and perfect for all ages.
