Spring Workshop: Creating Daisy Bouquets by Hand

The American Russian Center, together with the Игра.Unplugged Summer Camp, warmly invites families, children, and community members to a special hands-on spring workshop: creating beautiful flower bouquets from chenille wire / pipe cleaners. This creative gathering is designed as a welcoming space where participants of all ages can come together, explore their artistic side, and take home a handmade bouquet full of charm and meaning.

At the heart of this workshop are daisies—one of the most beloved and traditional flowers across many cultures, including Russian traditions. Daisies symbolize purity, innocence, warmth, and new beginnings, making them especially fitting for the spring season. In folklore and everyday life, daisies often represent simplicity and sincerity—reminding us that beauty can be found in the smallest and most natural things. Through this workshop, participants will recreate these symbolic flowers using soft, colorful materials, transforming them into lasting keepsakes.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to create delicate flowers using chenille wire
  • Design their own small bouquet to take home
  • Enjoy a relaxed, inter-generational creative environment
  • Connect with others through art, conversation, and shared experience

No prior experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. FREE!

Date: Friday, March 27
Time: 6:00 PM
Location: Glen Lake Activity Center
14350 Excelsior Blvd.
Minnetonka, MN 55345

This is a family-friendly event—we warmly welcome both children and adults. This workshop reflects the American Russian Center’s commitment to creating spaces where culture, creativity, and community come together. Through simple yet meaningful activities like this, we aim to foster connection, preserve traditions, and offer moments of joy and expression.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
